Sept 6, 2011--CHOICES Education Group Releases Upgraded Dropout Prevention and Educational Success Workshop. 25-year-old program continues to serve teens for under $5 per student. CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based nonprofit, announces a new release of its highly successful dropout prevention and educational success program. CHOICES, a two-hour workshop delivered in school classrooms over two days, has been delivered to more than six million students in the last 25 years. The new release, which is more interactive, focused and compelling for today’s teens, further supports CHOICES’ growing efforts to mitigate the high school dropout epidemic. (read more)

June 3, 2011--CHOICES Education Group Celebrates 25 Years of Serving Teens. Benefit and auction to raise money for dropout prevention and education success workshop and cellphone game. CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based nonprofit, announces their 25th Anniversary Celebration Benefit on June 10, 2011 at Shilshole Bay Beach Club in Seattle Washington from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event marks twenty five years of keeping teens in school and on-track.

"Every school day 7,000 students become dropouts." said Leo Muller, Executive Director of the national not-for-profit. "CHOICES helps kids at a crucial point in their lives, when they are old enough to think realistically about their future but are young enough to still do something about it." (read more)

Aug 19, 2010—CHOICES Education Group Awarded $10,000 Grant from Capital One. Donation helps combat high school dropout epidemic by serving the CHOICES program to 2,000 teens in Virginia and Texas. CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based non-profit organization, announced today it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Capital One's African American Network. Using Capital One employees as volunteer presenters, the grant will be used to deliver the CHOICES program in Virginia and Texas. (read more)

Aug 11, 2010—CHOICES Education Group receives $50,000 grant from UPS Foundation to fund new dropout prevention programs. Non-profit organization seeks Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Clubs interested in starting programs in their communities. The CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based social enterprise, announced today it has received a $50,000 grant from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS (NYSE: UPS). The UPS Foundation grant will be used to fund new dropout prevention programs in communities nationwide. CHOICES Education Group is now searching for Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Clubs who would like to launch a dropout prevention program with the use of these funds. (read more)

July 14, 2010—CHOICES Education Group Receives New $15,000 Grant from Nordstrom. Donation helps combat high school dropout epidemic by serving the CHOICES program to 3,000 teens in Washington and Alaska. CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based non-profit organization, announced today it has been awarded a $15,000 grant from Nordstrom for use in Washington and Alaska--bringing their total support for CHOICES over the last eight years to $277,500. CHOICES Education Group is now searching for Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Clubs in these two states that would like to launch a dropout prevention program with the use of these funds. (read more)

CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based social enterprise, announced today it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Nordstrom, bringing their total support for CHOICES over the last seven years to $262,500. Nordstrom has designated this year’s funding for use in new locations in Arizona and the Pacific Northwest. (read more)

November 11, 2008—SEATTLE SEAHAWK MARCUS TRUFANT LAUNCHES 2ND ANNUAL “TACKLES FOR TEENS” CHALLENGE. Seattle Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant and his Trufant Family Foundation have announced that they will partner with CHOICES Education Group for a second year to help keep teens in school. The two non-profit organizations will collaborate once again on an NFL season-long campaign to raise public awareness and funding to support CHOICES and the Trufant Family Foundation. (read more)

June 23, 2008—CHOICES Education Group Launches First Lifetime Achievement Awards. CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based social enterprise, announced today the recipients of their first ever CHOICES Lifetime Achievement Awards. The new award recognizes CHOICES Program Managers who have given their time, energy and dedication over many years, to bring the CHOICES workshop to teens in their communities. (read more)

To commemorate these awards, CHOICES created a homespun ten-minute video that recognizes all nine individuals, and also prepared a profile with more details about each recipient.

March 18, 2008—CHOICES Education Group Receives $10,000 Grant From NORDSTROM. Donation helps non-profit serve 2,000 teens in Arizona and California and brings total Nordstrom support for CHOICES to more than $250,000. CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based social enterprise, announced today it has received a $10,000 grant from Nordstrom, bringing their total support for CHOICES over the last six years to $252,500. Nordstrom has designated this year’s funding for use in new locations in Arizona and the Los Angeles area of California. (read more)

January 31, 2008—Bank of America Charitable Foundation Awards CHOICES Education Group Its Largest Donation Ever For Teen Dropout Prevention Program
The CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based non-profit, announced today it has received a $125,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation—the largest donation CHOICES Education Group has received since its inception in 1985. Using bank employees as volunteer presenters, the grant will be used to deliver the CHOICES program to more than 30,000 middle school students nationwide.

March 20, 2007—CHOICES EDUCATION GROUP RECEIVES $30,000 GRANT FROM NORDSTROM. The CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based social enterprise, announced today it has received a $30,000 grant from Nordstrom, bringing 2007’s total corporate grants to $180,000. Nordstrom has designated this year’s funding for use in their Midwest Region (Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Ohio) and their South Region (Florida, Georgia and Texas). March 6, 2007—CHOICES EDUCATION GROUP RECEIVES $150,000 IN GRANTS FROM BANK OF AMERICA AND UPS. The CHOICES Education Group, a Seattle-based social enterprise, announced today it has received a $100,000 grant from the Bank of America Foundation, the charitable arm of Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) and a $50,000 grant from the UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS (NYSE: UPS). The Bank of America Foundation grant will be used to deliver CHOICES in middle schools using their own employees as volunteer presenters, and the UPS Foundation grant will be used to deliver the CHOICES program using volunteers from local Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Clubs. February 6, 2007—SHAUN ALEXANDER SCORES BIG WITH CHOICES “Go Shaun Go” CHALLENGE. Seattle Seahawk Shaun Alexander scored big with his second annual CHOICES “Go Shaun Go” Challenge, raising over $43,000 for the CHOICES Education Group. During the 2006/2007 National Football League season, Alexander gained 1,133 yards, rushing and receiving, and received an average of $38 in donations for each yard gained.

August 31, 2006—INDEPENDENCE CHAMBER FINALIST FOR CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP AWARD. The Business Civic Leadership Center, a 501(c)3 affiliate of the United States Chamber of Commerce, today announced that the Independence Chamber of Commerce in Independence, Missouri, has been honored as a finalist for a Corporate Citizenship Award. The Independence Chamber is a finalist in the category of U.S. Community Service.
