CHOICES NEWS:

CHOICES Program Manager Named
Statewide Community Banker of the Year

Little did Roberta Nelson, a senior account manager at Bank of America in Orono, Maine, know what she was getting into when she agreed to become a CHOICES Program Manager last year. But in just 14 months Roberta successfully coordinated first-year delivery of CHOICES to 38 classes in 12 middle schools, committed to expanding their reach to 101 classes this next school year, and was, to her great surprise, named “Maine Community Banker of the Year” by the Maine Banking Commission. Congratulations from the whole CHOICES family, Roberta!

CHOICES Presenter Wins Company Award and
$1,000 Donation for CHOICES

Kerry Prichard, a Client Service Associate at Russell Investments in Tacoma, WA, who has been devotedly delivering CHOICES for the last three years, recently won the Russell Community Investor Award, in part for her volunteering as a CHOICES Presenter. Kerry was told that along with the award, Russell Investments would make a donation of $1,000 to the charity of her choice…and she chose CHOICES! Congratulations to Kerry for her terrific community service, and thanks for the donation, which will be used to deliver CHOICES in her home town of Yelm, WA! Everybody wins!

CHOICES MANAGEMENT TIP OF THE MONTH

Take Stock of Your CHOICES Presenter Kits

Summer is the best time for you to take stock of your Presenter Kits so your presenters will have what they need for the new school year. Ask your presenters to turn in their Kits over the summer, letting them know you will re-issue them in the fall. This prevents losses that may result from people who move on for various reasons and forget to return their materials to you. It also allows you to replace any worn, damaged or missing components (ask your presenters to identify any components that need replacement). Please contact us at info@choices.org if you need to order any components or complete Presenter Kits (allow 4-6 weeks for delivery).
